I’m Travis King, an illustrator and designer with over 20 years of experience creating character-driven artwork for publishing, apparel, and consumer products. My work blends narrative illustration, strong composition, and thoughtful color to support storytelling across both print and digital formats.

I’ve worked across children’s publishing, licensing, and in-house design environments, collaborating with editors, art directors, and cross-functional teams to bring ideas from concept through final production. My background includes illustration for books, editorial projects, surface design, and branded content.

In addition to freelance illustration, I’ve held senior creative roles where I’ve art directed projects, mentored designers, and partnered closely with product development, marketing, and production teams. This experience allows me to approach illustration not just as artwork, but as part of a larger system with real-world constraints and goals.

I’m drawn to expressive characters, texture, and visual storytelling. Whether the work is playful or more contemplative, I aim for clarity, warmth, and purpose—creating images that feel intentional and emotionally grounded.
